- Parent/Caregiver Interview: The intake interview involves a thorough discussion with the caregivers to gather detailed information about your child's background, behaviors, developmental history, and any concerns. This may cover:
- - Birth and medical history
- - Developmental milestones
- - Educational history and current school placement
- - Previous and current therapies or interventions
- - Family dynamics and support systems
- Behavioral Concerns: Discuss specific behaviors that are of concern, including when and where they occur, triggers, and the impact on daily life.
2. Assessment
Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA): A detailed assessment is conducted to understand your child's behavior, including antecedents, behaviors, and consequences (ABC). This helps identify the function of the behavior. The FBA will include:- Direct Observations,
- Indirect Assessments, such as questionnaires and rating scales, and- Review of RecordsSkills Assessment: Evaluate your child's current skills and abilities across various domains such as communication, social skills, academic skills, and daily living skills.
3. Goal Setting/Treatment Planning
Individualized Goal Development: Based on the assessment results, specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals are developed. Goals are personalized to address the unique needs and priorities of your child and their family.Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP): Develop a BIP that outlines strategies for reducing challenging behaviors and promoting positive behaviors. This includes prevention strategies, teaching alternative behaviors, and consequence interventions.
4. Review and Consent
Review the proposed treatment plan with the caregivers, explaining the goals, methods, and expectations.
Obtain informed consent from the caregivers to begin ABA therapy, ensuring they understand and agree with the proposed plan.

5. Scheduling and Payment
Schedule ABA therapy sessions and discuss and finalize payment and insurance options.
